BOARD OF EDUCATION VACANCY

Valorie Lewis
Board President

Term Expires:
December 31, 2025

I graduated from Waynedale High School in 1984. My husband, Larry, is a 1981 graduate of Waynedale also. We have three boys, Benjamin, Spenser, and Seth who have graduated from Waynedale. I have been employed at Reberland Equipment, Inc. for 33 years, and I have lived in the Apple Creek area my whole life. I enjoyed my educational experience, and the experiences of my children, at Southeast Local Schools.

I am in my fourth term on the School Board, having previously served one term from 2000–2004, and look forward to being actively involved in the future of Southeast Local Schools. I am a past PTO officer, Booster Club Officer, and have served as East Union Township Fiscal Officer for the past sixteen years.

I look forward to serving all of the communities within our District to provide the best educational experience for all the students of Southeast Local. I strive to be accessible to any questions or concerns from community members and staff. I can be reached at 330-698-5883 ext 100 (work), or 330-464-1836 (cell). Email:  soea_vlewis@tccsa.net

I am a 1975 graduate of Hiland High School. I live outside of Fredericksburg and am employed as a Rural Carrier for the Fredericksburg Post Office. I enjoy working with people and look forward to serving my community as a board member.

I am married to Betty (Weaver), and have 3 children: Ryan, Kelly and Brady. I enjoy family time and watching my children as they participate in various activities at school, church and our community. I spend a lot of time at the local ball diamond, working with those who run the program and working with the kids. Sports have always been a favorite pastime for me, and I enjoy attending as many Southeast events as possible.

As a Board Member, I look forward to serving all of our communities and students. I feel we have a great school system and I am excited to be a part of educating our students. A school district’s biggest challenge is to meet the needs of ALL of the students. A true educator meets and challenges each student at the level that they are at.

As your elected representative, I want to have an open line of communication with the Southeast staff and community members. I can be reached at (home) 330-695-6503 or (cell) 330-464-0957.

I was born in New York City and moved to Holmesville with my husband Lawrence, a Waynedale graduate, and current 5th-grade teacher at Holmesville Elementary, and daughter, Kimberley in 2010.  We have since been blessed to add Dominic, Landon, and Lawrence to our family. Prior to moving, I worked as a preschool teacher at The Children’s Aid Society, Philip Coltoff Center in Greenwich Village for eight years.

I  am an active parent and enjoy supporting my children in all aspects of their education including all of their extracurricular activities. My children participate in the fine arts, athletics, and other extracurriculars both inside and outside of the school systems which I believe is important. Alongside a busy family schedule, I enjoy meeting community members while volunteering to help coordinate the Southeast youth soccer program, supporting the PTO, classrooms, music and athletic boosters, and attending various community events.

As a former educator, I always feel the need to support all students to excel and grow to their full potential both inside and outside of the classroom.

I am excited to share my experience, knowledge, and perspective with the Southeast community. Being part of this community, and having my family attend and work in the district has allowed me to see the many strengths it has.  I believe that the continued strengths of our school district will be achieved through communication, collaboration, accountability, and transparency. I look forward to working with the board and engaging with the students, staff, and community and hope that my involvement with the board will influence changes that positively impact the future of the district. I am focused on doing what is best for all students and understanding the importance of keeping the community informed of the district’s progress and challenges. I can be reached via email at soea_scerniglia@tccsa.net or by phone at (917) 523-9408.

I am a 1998 graduate of Dalton High School.  I have lived in the Appe Creek area with my family including my wife Katy who is a graduate of Waynedale.  We have three children that attend Southeast Local Schools:  Cooper, Tori and Kyler.  I have worked at TC Energy for the past 12 years as a Pipeline Technician.  After working hours, you can probably find me at some kind of ballfield or court either coaching or cheering the kids on from the sidelines.  I am excited to be a part of the school board and look forward to partnering with our students, staff and community to give our district a solid foundation to build upon.  If you have any questions I can be reached at (330) 464-2983 or by email at soea_rreynolds@tccsa.net.
